Berkeley Inns Ltd are extremely delighted to announce the acquisition of the much-loved destination pub, The Meynell Ingram Arms. This is the fifth addition to the group who currently operate The Cow - Dalbury Lees, The Horseshoes - Long Lane, The Cock Inn - Mugginton and The Bluebell - Kirk Langley. The new property sees the group expanding out of Derbyshire to Staffordshire.
The Meynell Ingram Arms is situated in Hoar Cross Village, Burton-on-Trent, this once very popular country pub has been closed for nearly five years. The pub will re-open in April 2019. A new management team is being assembled with promotion for some group team members and new recruits.
Some minor structural alterations will be made prior to Christmas followed by a major re-fit and re-design of the interior in January 2019. Every effort and consideration will be made to maintain the Meynell’s individual character. The Meynell will be provided with four distinct areas, the traditional ‘locals bar’ to the front, a modern restaurant and ‘sports’ bar to the rear. The terraces and gardens will be up-graded to provide an exciting outside area….Something for everyone including ‘canine friends and their muddy owners’
Howard Thacker, Managing Director of Berkeley Inns Ltd said
“The Meynell is an iconic, much loved pub and very important facility for locals and those from further afield. We aim to re-instate the pub to its former position in the community with a sympathetic re-fit and a fabulous food and drink offer combined with unmatched service.”
