The Devonshire Arms at Beeley is one of two historic inns on The Duke of Devonshire’s Chatsworth estate. Here, guests can share the Duke’s passion for quality food, local provenance and delicious dining in the AA rosette pub restaurant which features a colourful and contemporary- styled Brasserie, along with a new ‘al fresco’ dining Terrace with outdoor heaters.
Always known locally for its excellent fayre, and use of local barter system, diners here can now also enjoy a variety of new dishes and dining experiences introduced by new Head Chef, Ian Smith, whose career highlight include a stint at The Savoy and working under celebrity Chef, Gary Rhodes in London, as well as catering for the Royal Family and VIPs internationally within his RAF career, as well as a string of well known gastro pubs such as The Black Swan at Oldstead and The Farmer’s Restaurant at Welton Hill in Lincolnshire.
‘Wine on the House’
Lunches at The Devonshire Arms, Beeley are served each day between 12 noon and 3pm, from Monday – Friday diners can enjoy a (125ml) glass of house wine, with our compliments when ordering a two-course lunch from the ‘à la carte’ menu. (Offer valid until 30th September 2016)
‘Seasonal Market Menu Lunches’
Or for superb seasonal value, a selection of three starters, mains and desserts to choose from on the ‘Seasonal Specials’ menu, which changes each month, and is priced at £16 for two courses, or £19.50 for three courses (Mon-Fri until 30th November 2016).
‘Steak Sharing Wednesdays’
New for Wednesday evenings, is the steak sharing platter, which includes 1 cut of beef or another great piece of locally-sourced meat such as lamb ribs, straight from the Butcher’s Block. Price for the platter varies to present the best market value available; for example 16 oz Rib Eye of Beef for two is £40, includes 1 x sauce (e.g. pepper, Béarnaise, Red wine and mushroom) and fresh seasonal veggies and choice of potatoes to enjoy with your meal. (Served from 6pm – 9pm on Wednesdays)
‘Fish on Fridays’
On Friday evenings, Chef, Ian Smith, presents diners with the ‘catch of the day’, brought fresh to you from the coast, once again varies with the season but a fine selection of fish and seafood with some pub classics thrown in to the more impressive a la carte dishes, with a choice of excellent wines to complement, for example, pan seared Red Mullet fillet with accompaniments at £16, Fresh oven baked East Coast Lobster, £35.
‘10% off when visiting Chatsworth’
Diners who produce a Chatsworth entry ticket at either The Devonshire Arms, Beeley, or Pilsley, will receive a 10% discount from their food bill, either lunch times (12 noon – 3pm) or dinner (6 – 9pm) any day of the week. (Valid until 30th November, 2016)
Beeley has been awarded an AA rosette in recognition of its delicious menus and estate farmed and local artisan-made produce features regularly on both dining menus. In support of community spirit, locals are encouraged to barter fresh produce in season, in exchange for a pint or two at the bar.
Chatsworth is only a few minutes away by car from here and there is also a sister inn, The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley, which serves traditional pub favourites in its warm and welcoming pub restaurant area.
The high quality offering of both these local inns, the cheerful welcome and professional service on offer, combined with their unique location makes them a popular choice with both locals and those visiting Chatsworth and the Peak District area.
Well behaved dogs are welcome too at Pilsley, and in the bar and outdoor areas at Beeley.
