This Valentine’s Day, The Bakewell Tart Shop, home to the iconic Bakewell Tart for over a century, is offering a delicious twist on traditional romance: personalised Iced Cherry Bakewell Tarts. Ideal for those seeking a memorable and edible Valentine’s gift, these special treats are available to purchase in-store or online now for delivery across the UK.
Each tart is carefully crafted using the only authentic, original Bakewell Tart recipe, which only two people currently have access to. It consists of a crisp pastry shell, a layer of sweet jam, frangipane filling, icing, and topped with a signature cherry. The unique "wet mix" results in a wonderfully moist and flavourful tart, setting it apart from standard alternatives.
Customers can add their own personal message, up to 20 characters, or choose from classic Valentine’s messages to make each tart a true reflection of their affection. They could even turn it into a ‘proposal’ tart! The tarts cost £18.65 each.
According to Duncan Kirk, Managing Director and owner of The Bakewell Tart Shop:
“More people are looking for thoughtful alternatives to flowers, and our personalised Valentine’s Bakewell Tarts make a perfect choice. They’re a sweet and memorable way to say ‘I love you,’ and something you can enjoy together—or perhaps have to keep a close eye on if your loved one has a sweet tooth!”
Located in the heart of Bakewell at 18 Matlock Street, The Bakewell Tart Shop also boasts a café and shop, providing a cosy space to enjoy not only Bakewell Tarts and Puddings but also an array of fresh pies, cakes, breads, and regional favourites. The café serves breakfast, lunch, and traditional English afternoon teas, with options for vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets.
For those looking to surprise their loved ones with a uniquely British treat, The Bakewell Tart Shop’s personalised Valentine’s Tarts will be available to order online at bakewelltarts.co.uk.
