intu Derby are pleased to announce that BB’s Bakers & Baristas will be opening in the centre on 18th August 2016.
BB’s (short for bakers + baristas) began in Australia in 1985. The first BB’s opened in the Australia Fair shopping centre in Southport, Queensland, on the Gold Coast. Their specialty is serving baked on site muffins with delicious, barista-made coffee but in addition to this they also offer a variety of other baked treats and savory snacks.
BB’s underwent a design-led rebrand in 2011, attracting a fashion-conscious clientele in the shopping malls where their stores are principally located. BB’s is unpretentious and approachable and has a quirky, tongue-in-cheek humour.
Their brand new location on level 1 of intu Derby will be fun and engaging and will be different to what you would usually expect when walking into your local coffee shop.
“To us, every BB’s is special. We have many stores across the UK and Ireland, and for every single one of them we ask ourselves the same question: What makes this place so unique?
"In some ways every one of our stores is a conversation about the very place it’s in – whether it’s the building or the history of the local area that inspires us, we want to have some fun with it and create a meeting place with personality.”
Dan Murphy, General Manager at intu Derby said “We are delighted to be welcoming BB’s bakers & baristas into the centre and we are proud that they have chosen intu Derby to be their first location to open in the midlands.
"It’s great that they have designed their café interior bespoke to Derby, it really shows they understand the city and also offers a different environment to enjoy good coffee and freshly baked treats."
