Diners are being promised a night with a difference in a few week’s time when a renowned Ecclesall Road Italian hosts a night of live opera.
Nonnas have enlisted the services of celebrated local tenor Gareth Lloyd to provide the vocal accompaniment to a menu themed around popular Italian opera.
Maurizio Mori, Nonnas proprietor, said: “We’ve tried a lot of different things at Nonnas over the years but Italian opera has always eluded until late last year when Gareth made his debut – it was a total sell out!
“Our chefs are working on a menu that compliments major Italian opera songs spanning Nessun Dorma to ‘O Sole Mio.”
Gareth Lloyd is co-founder of Sheffield-based Opera On Location – a company renowned for providing immersive opera experiences.
He was a star performer at a recently Italian evening at the University of Sheffield and his operatic credits include Don Curzio The Marriage of Figaro with West Riding Opera, le Remendado Carmen, Monostatos The Magic Flute and Faust in Faust with Sheffield City Opera.
Nonnas first opened on Ecclesall Road in 1996.
It has won numerous awards down the years including the Best Italian in England.
Nonnas’ Night At The Opera starring tenor Gareth Lloyd is set to take place on Monday, March 30th. Tickets are just £50 each and include a five course themed menu.
Bookings can be made on 0114 268 6166.
Nonna's is situated at 535-541 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield S11 8PR.
