The team behind Bustler Market are delighted to announce that the street food market has reached an agreement with Riverlights to stay in residence through to the end of the year.
Having opened in May, the market has gone from strength to strength, getting rave reviews from customers and food bloggers, and attracting crowds of up to 4,000 people each event.
Having come up with the idea earlier this year, the founders of the business, Liv Pritchard, Ben Edmonds, Stuart Costen and Tom Erskine, are thrilled to see how successful the event has been.
Liv said, “When we first started thinking about the concept, we hoped it would be popular and attract people who felt there wasn’t anything a little bit different to do in Derby. We had seen how successful events were in London, Birmingham and Sheffield and felt Derby deserved its own version. Now we’ve had 3 events, with a fourth to come this Bank Holiday weekend, and we are absolutely delighted with how it’s been received.”
Tom said, “The most encouraging thing for us is seeing so many different people coming to the market. We knew it would be popular with young people, but it’s amazing to see people of all ages coming along and trying something different. We’re also seeing word spread amongst the trader community and we’re building up a great reputation for putting on a well-attended event with a great atmosphere.”
Traders have already been booked for the October to December dates, with existing favourites being joined by new, nationally recognised traders, some of whom are finalists in the British Street Food Awards, whilst the team are also set to announce some other exciting events soon.
Mark Holmes, Head of Asset Management at Moorfield, who own Riverlights, said, "Bustler Market has really taken off in Derby and we're delighted at how Riverlights’ well-connected and unique waterside setting has been received by all. We look forward to welcoming visitors to more Bustler Markets here at Derby Riverlights.”
Bustler Market takes place on the last weekend of every month, Friday from 5pm, and Saturday from 12pm.
