Learn about the fascinating food facts of Belper including visiting one of the world’s first ever bread factories that was based in the town.
Find out what the inmates of Belper Workhouse had to look forward to at the dinner table and stand inside the biggest venison larder you’re ever likely to see.
Once you’ve worked up a healthy appetite you’ll be able to try some tasty mini mouthfuls thanks to Fresh Basil who are putting together samples of a variety of locally sourced produce.
Belper North Mill manager Sarah Skinner said: “We’re combining history and food in one mouth-watering tour.
“Find out the hidden food history of Belper and then sample some fantastic local produce at Fresh Basil’s award winning deli.”
The 90 minute walk - lead by World Heritage Site Co-ordinator Adrian Farmer – will take place on Sunday September 29 and starts at 2pm on Belper Market Place.
It cost £4 for adults and £2 for children including the Fresh Basil taster session at the end of the walk.
