AVYourSay, the hugely successful local Twitter networking hour for the Amber Valley held their second live networking night, #AVYourSayLive, earlier this month at the Devonshire Pub and Restaurant in Belper. Compered by Ross Lowe of Ross Lowe Copywriting , the pub was packed to the rafters with representatives of the best in local business, all keen to meet, chat and get to know one another better.
AVYourSay is the brainchild of Paul Curran-Bilbie of Amber Valley Info, Kaye Booth of Social Myna, Kirsty Jackson of Abacus Belper, Drew Patterson of Tree Hugger & Son and Duncan Mercer of Amber Valley Wines. The Twitter hour has gone from strength to strength, trending nationally on a number of occasions – and the Live event was a further boost for local businesses.
Music was provided by Amber Sound 102.7FM and one of the highlights of the evening was a meat-tasting event courtesy of Paul Webb from Exotic Meats of Ripley. Everyone was served four mini-burgers to sample before guessing the type of meat – and they were treated to camel, llama, kangaroo and zebra!
A generous £260 was raised for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance charity and the evening as a whole was a real success with a huge variety of businesses mixing together with one another in a relaxed and enjoyable manner.
The evening was expertly recorded by local photographer Tracey Robinson and videographer Lara Elliott.
The next event (date and venue TBC) has a lot to live up to but the AVYourSay Live team are confident that it will be even bigger and better than before. Keep your eyes on Amber Valley Info or the AVYourSay website for further announcements.
