This is not the greatest festival in the world…this is just a tribute! Björn Again, Fleetwood Bac, Rob Lamberti as George Michael and Taylor Swift join a dedicated dinosaur area to make crowds roar in Derby this June
One of the best family get-togethers of the year, Derby’s Sausage and Cider Festival, has today announced its final lineup of tribute’s best. Headliners Björn Again, Fleetwood Bac and Johnny 2 Bad will join Rob Lamberti as George Michael for a weekend of family-friendly mayhem.
For the 8th edition of Derbyshire’s Sausage and Cider festival, James Dean Events proudly presents the globe’s finest tribute acts for a sizzling summer of sausage, cider and more. The festival returns to Catton Park from Thursday 22nd to Monday 26th June 2023, with tickets available here: https://ontick.co.uk/event/derbyshire-sausage-cider-festival-2023
Björn Again are the must-see parody band of 1970s Swedish Pop group ABBA. Having graced some of the biggest festival stages on the globe in over 72 countries, the sought-after group will deliver hit after hit to celebrate ABBA’s outstanding repertoire. Fleetwood Bac pay homage to the British-American rock band with an impressive sign of approval from Mick Fleetwood himself. Also new on the bill for 2023 are Johnny 2 Bad - an 8-piece celebration of the legendary reggae act, UB40, who will be busting out classics like ‘Red Red Wine’.
Adding to the mega lineup, Rob Lamberti delivers impeccable vocals as George Michael after years perfecting his performance. As a star in his own right, Rob Lamberti has even been mistaken for George whilst performing on Stars in Their Eyes in 1994. Rob is joined by Taylor Swift by Xenna who is sure to lay down hit after hit which will leave crowds with “that James Dean daydream look in their eye” (James Dean…get it?).
A key event in Derbyshire’s eventful calendar, the festival welcomes two brand-new arenas for 2023 - the Steel Yard Arena and the Secret Rave Arena. Friday will host the most exciting local talent, from Eighty Eight Miles to Cover’d in Punk, followed by Saturday’s rock highlights. Finally, Sunday’s cheese day promises back-to-back sing-along bangers from start to finish. Still feeling energetic? Pop-up wrestling matches will take place across the Saturday and Sunday.
Running over four days in June, Derby’s Sausage & Cider Festival has the winning combination: a beautiful location, a top-drawer cider collection, globally-celebrated musicians, and sausages at almost every turn. A brand-new dinosaur experience will also take over the festival on Saturday and Sunday. Dinos from Tyrannosaurus Rex to raptors will roam the event for an unforgettable interactive Jurassic escapade for those both young and young at heart. Crowds can even visit the hatchery to catch dinos emerging into the world - live for the first time at the festival.
Curated for food and music lovers alike, festival-goers can choose from over 20 delicious ciders from Somerset’s Lilley’s Cider, over 20 hand-picked sausages (with both vegan and gluten-free options available!), and a tailor-made homage to each generation of the music industry’s trailblazing artists.
Tickets are on sale now at £99 (for four nights camping) and £89 (for three nights camping) and £29-39 for the day. With onsite camping, the festival ticket also includes four jam-packed days of festival fun, performances from over 50 acts and entertainers, and a brand-new dinosaur experience suitable for all ages.
