The UK’s favourite Japanese restaurant group, YO! Sushi is set to open its doors in the city of Derby this autumn. Situated in the food court of the Intu Centre, the 60-seat restaurant is inspired by urban Tokyo and features YO! Sushi’s iconic ‘kaiten’ conveyor belt which is perfect for a fast, fresh, fun dining experience.
There are over 80 authentic hot and cold dishes on offer and, in addition to a mouth-watering sushi selection including Tuna Tataki & Ponzu, Japanese Seabass Ceviche and the all new Blossom Rolls, diners can also enjoy hot classics like the best-selling Chicken Katsu Curry, the PETA award winning Tofu Katsu Curry and Spicy Pepper Squid. And, for those extra hungry diners, there is even a sumo size option available on selected hot dishes.
The core management team are made up of local community members and the kitchen will be led by YO! Sushi head chef, Karen Cabajar, who has already been with the company for over three years. Alex Trott, the General Manager has grown up in Derby and also been part of the YO! Sushi family for three years. The new restaurant has created over 30 new jobs in the local area.
Robin Rowland, Exec Chairman at YO! Sushi said: “Derby is our missing link in The Midlands which will be joining our long standing Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham restaurants. Opening with a great senior management team from existing YO! Sushi’s, we can’t wait to turn on our conveyor belt in Derby, adding to the fantastic success we’ve had from our existing six restaurants in Intu centres.
From our new winter warming, great value for money Sumo Bowls like our Beef Curry Ramen to traditional sushi and classics – Derby is in for a real treat and we look forward to welcoming the local community and visitors alike through the doors next month.”
