The Ilkeston Food Fair
Carol and Gordon Pringle grew up in Ilkeston and have always shared a love of food. From picnics to fine dining, the ethos of good food starts with great ingredients.
Carol completed her HND in Hotel Catering and Institutional management in Cheltenham and has worked in the industry most of her life. Gordon has run his own cafe “The Rutland Cafe” for the past 12 years. Having been inspired by the Derby Summer Market and the Belper Food Festival, the Ilkeston Food Fair seemed a natural progression.
They wanted to showcase the brilliant artisan producers in Ilkeston and the surrounding areas and create a positive image for the town.
Following on from the fabulous public response to the first Ilkeston Food Fair, they thought we just had to do it again and again! They now hold two fairs a year, one in May and one in October andhave extended the fair to include plants and crafts as well as the brilliant local food producers.
There are local breweries, a Prosecco Bar and even something to treat your dog!
Live music will add to the atmosphere and a bouncy castle, face painting and pony rides will keep the small people entertained.
